Whittet Announces Eight-Member Class of 2017

PROVIDENCE, RI – Head men's hockey coach Brendan Whittet '94 has announced his fourth recruiting class as the Bears' head coach. This talented group of eight players (four forwards, two defensemen, and two goalies) is set to join the Bears this fall as part of the Class of 2017. They represent the United States (Massachusetts and Michigan), Canada (British Columbia and Ontario) and Finland.

"I would like to welcome to the Brown Hockey family a tremendous group of eight student-athletes," said Whittet. "This is a diverse group with players coming from three different countries and also spread out amongst positions.  At Brown we pride ourselves on work and competition.  All eight incoming players, while possessing different strengths, embody that Brown Hockey trademark work ethic and compete level that I demand out of every player who puts on our jersey.  This class is a direct result of the tireless recruiting efforts put forth by Associate Head Coach Mark White and former Assistant Coach Mike Souza."
