Maclellan Named Second Team All-ECAC
Brown senior captain Jack Maclellan (Calgary, ALB) has been named 2012 All-ECAC in a vote by the League's 12 coaches. Maclellan was named Second Team All-ECAC for the Second straight year and was also a First Team All-Ivy honoree this season.
Maclellan finished the 2012 season leading the team in points (30), earning 30 points for the third straight year, goals (15), assists (15), power play goals (8), short-handed goals (2), and game-winning goals (4). In 20 ECAC Hockey contests, Maclellan ranked 6th in the League with 23 points (13g, 10a), second in goals, 31st in assists, fifth in power play points (8-2-10), first in power play goals (8), third in short-handed points (1-1-2), third in short-handed goals (1), and eighth in game-winning goals (2). Maclellan was also Brown's top center, leading Brown with 482 faceoff wins and a .598 winning percentage.
A four-year contributor up front, Maclellan was one of Brown's most dangerous offensive threats over the past three seasons. Since the fall of 2009, he has compiled 95 of his 101 career points on 44 goals and 49 assists. With a two-point night in the Bears' 3-3 tie with Harvard, Maclellan became the first Brown player to reach the 100-point milestone since 2008, tallying an assist on the game-tying goal. A valuable part of Brown's special teams, Maclellan has 30 career power play points (12g, 18a) and a Brown modern-day record seven career short-handed goals, including two this season. A two-time candidate for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award and a Finalist for the 2012 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, Maclellan played in 121 career games. He signed an NHL contract with the Nashville Predators at the conclusion of the season.
