Maclellan and Robertson Named All-ECAC Hockey

PROVIDENCE, RI – Brown junior assistant captain Jack Maclellan (Calgary, ALB) and freshman defenseman Dennis Robertson (Fort St. John, BC) have been selected to the 2011 All-ECAC Hockey teams in a vote by the League's 12 head coaches. Maclellan was named Second Team All-League, while Robertson earned a spot on the All-Rookie squad.

Maclellan, Brown's leading scorer for the majority of the season, finished the year tied for first on the team with 31 points, while leading the team with 17 assists. Maclellan ranked near the top of the ECAC in scoring throughout the majority of the season, earning national attention as a nominee for the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Unfortunately, Maclellan's season was cut short one shift into the Bears' game at Prineton on February 18th when his foot was cut by a skate. In 25 games, Maclellan also poasted three power play goals, two short-handed goals, and one game-winning goal. In ECAC Hockey games only, Maclellan finished the year ranked 18th in points (17), 15th in goals (8) and 29th in assists (9). Overall, Maclellan ranked 18th in points (31), 15th in goals (14), and 22nd in assists (17). His 1.22 points per game ranked 22nd nationally.

Robertson developed into one of the Bears' most reliable defensemen this season, playing in 30 of 31 games. A powerful two-way defenseman, Robertson is equally effective on both sides of the puck, finishing the season ranked fourth overall on the team in scoring with 17 points (6g, 11a), totals that led all Brown defensemen and rookies. His 17 points rank third all-time at Brown for points in a season by a rookie defenseman, while his six goals is the Brown record for goals in a season by a rookie defenseman and his 11 assists is ninth for assists in a season by a rookie defenseman. Robertson was a vital part of Brown's special teams, playing on the first power play and posting five power play goals and 11 power play points. In ECAC games only, Robertson was 7th in the League in scoring among defensemen and 10th in scoring among freshmen with 13 points (3g, 10a).
