Bears Earning Votes in Two National Polls

PROVIDENCE, RI - Following its weekend sweep in central New York, which saw Brown defeat Colgate, 5-2, and Cornell, 3-2, while earning its first sweep of the Colgate-Cornell road trip since 1992-93, the Bears have received votes in the current USCHO weekly poll and are listed under "bubble teams" on the INCH power rankings. Brown also received votes in the final poll of 2009-10, which marked the first time since November 2005 that Brown has been mentioned in the weekly poll.

The Bears, currently 3-2-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in their last five games, will close out the semester with a tough five-game stretch, as all five games are against teams currently in the USCHO poll.

Brown begins the stretch with a pair of road games against Hockey East foes New Hampshire, currently ranked 6th in the nation, and Boston University, currently ranked 2nd in the nation, this Tuesday and Saturday, respectively. The Bears close out the semester with home games against Union (currently ranked 13th), RPI (currently ranked 17th), and Providence (currently receiving votes).
