Providence, Rhode Island - Michael Harbour, the Director of Golf and head women's coach at Brown for the last four years, has moved over to become the head men's golf coach at the university, starting in the Spring 2007 season.
In four years as the women's coach at Brown, Harbour's teams captured three tournament championships, placing first at the 2003 Princeton Invitational, first at the Bucklell Invitational and capturing the title at the 2005 Central Connecticut Tournament.
A PGA golf professional and former golf coach at Johnson and Wales University, Harbour is recognized as one of the top teaching professionals in New England, Harbour is the Director of Golf at Mike Harbour's Golf and Learning Center in Exeter, Rhode Island, where he developed a learning center that covers all golf aspects. He was the head golf professional at Potowomut Golf Club (RI) from 1989-1999. While at Potowomut, Harbour was named the Golf Professional of the Year and Teaching Professional of the Year by the Rhode Island Chapter of the PGA. He also served as the head golf professional at the Lone Tree Country Club in Littleton, Colorado from 1992-1993.
Harbour was the head golf coach at Johnson and Wales University from 1998-2002, earning GNACC Golf Coach of the Year honors in 2001. He majored in Business Management at Rhode Island Community College from 1975-1977, and earned PGA Business School I & II certificates from 1982-1985. He earned a Business School III advanced professional training in 1995.
