Bears Complete Fall With 9th Place Finish At ECAC Championship

Westerly, Rhode Island - Brown's fall golf season culminated with a ninth place finish at the ECAC Division I Men's Golf Championship held at the par-71 Shelter Harbor Country Club. Coach Ed Hanley's squad posted scores of 315-311--626 in the two-day event that was captured by URI with a two-day 602.

Junior Larry Haertel (Greenwich, CT), the defending Ivy League individual champion, paced the Bears and placed 10th individually with scores of 76-76--152. Sophomore Chris Hoffman (Solon, OH) completed a solid fall season by finishing 28th individually with a two-round 158 (80, 78), while freshman John Giannuzzi (Wellesley, MA) earned a 31st place finish with scores of 82-77-159.

Senior Lanny Benson (St. Louis, MO) came in with a two-round 165 (77, 88) in his first competition of the fall, while sophomore Conor Malloy (Rye, NY) came in with scores of 90-80--170.
