Men's Golf Places 5th At ECAC Championship

Coach Ed Hanley's men's golf team earned a fifth place finish in the 16-team ECAC Open Championship, held at the par 72 Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, New York. Brown was the top Ivy finisher in the championship with a team score of 619, outdistancing Ivy foes Penn (623), Harvard (625) and Cornell (631).
Senior Kevin Buchert was the top Brown finisher, placing 8th overall with a two-day 151 (74, 77). Sophomore Danny Wallis also had a strong tournament for the Bears, finishing 13th in the 80 man field, with a two-day 152 (76, 76).
Brown's balanced lineup also included freshman Donny Mowlds, who placed 21st by shooting 76-78-154, freshman Chip Virnig, who posted a two-day 162 (80, 82), and sophomore Will Hubbard, who shot 80-87-167.
