Bears Place 9th At Dartmouth Fall Invitational

Hanover, NH - Coach Ed Hanley's men's golf team placed ninth at the 2004 Dartmouth Fall Invitational in its first competition of the season. The Bears shot a strong 310 in the first round, but faltered to 325 in the second round to shoot a two-day 635.

Binghampton captured the championship with a two-day 590, followed by Hartford (599), Dartmouth (600), Quinnipiac (6-2), Harvard (606), Ottawa (612), central Connecticut (616), Fordham (627), Brown (635), Sacred Heart (639), New Hampshire (659), Boston University (659), Providence (670) and MIT (674).

Larry Haertal led the Bears with a two-day 154 (75, 79) to place 21st overall in the 74 player field. Aaron Telch also excelled for the Bears, shooting 77-82--159.

Junior Lanny Benson was 39th overall with a two-day 161 (77, 84), while teammate Ryan Larson came in at 163, shooting 82, 81. Chip Virig completed the Bears' scoring with a two-day 164 (81, 83).
