Providence, RI - The Brown men's golf team earned a 7th place finish at the New England Division I Championship, held at the Triggs memorial Golf Club. Brown finished with a two-day 627, tied with Quinnipiac, behind Rhode Island (593), Connecticut (606), Central Connecticut (611), Yale (617), Binghamton (619), and Dartmouth (620), and ahead of Hartford (632), Harvard (637), Providence (640), Sacred Heart (659) and Boston University (685).
Freshman Larry Haertel (Greenwich, CT) led the way for the Bears with a 16th place finish, carding a two-day 153 (73-80) on the par-72 Triggs layout. Senior James Hahn (Rumford, RI) had a solid outing for the Bears, shooting 77-77-154 to place 18th overall.
Senior captain Robert Chen (Orangeburg, SC) came in at 157, 26th overall, with a two-day 157 (78, 79). Also scoring for the Bears were sophomore Lanny Benson (St. Louis, MO), who carded 82-81-163, and sophomore Aaron Telch (Palo Alto, CA), who finished with a two-day 167 (82-85).
