Amato Shoots One Under 69 In Final Round Of Ivy League Championship

Northfield, NJ - Sophomore Michael Amato shot a final round 69 at the Ivy League Championship held at the par-70 Atlantic City Country Club as the Bears broke the 900 barrier with a three-day 898 to finish eighth overall.

Columbia successfully defended the Ivy team title with a 54-hole 858, winning by a shot over Penn (859). Dartmouth was third at 864 followed by Yale (866), Princeton (872), Harvard (876), Cornell (889) and Brown (898).

Amato shots rounds of 71-75-69--215 to place 11th individually, just missing out on All-Ivy honors. He went out in two-under 33 and shot 36 on the back nine to shoot 69.

Senior co-captain Conor Malloy completed his stellar career by shooting 224 on rounds of 77-73-74 to finish 28th individually. Senior co-captain Chris Hoffman also wrapped up his strong Brown career by shooting 226 on rounds of 77-73-76.

Junior John Giannuzzi posted rounds of 77-83-77--237, while senior Joe Rued shots 79-79 on the last two days after being injured on the first day.

The Ivy Championship wraps up the 2009 season for the Bears.
