Bears 5th After Day One of the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate

Bossier City, LA - After 36 holes of play on day one of the Hal Sutton Invitational, the Brown men's golf team stands in fifth place with a two-round total of 624 (313-311) at the par-72 Stonebridge Golf Club. McNeese State leads the field with a two-round 590, followed by Birmingham Southern (592), North Dakota State (609), host Centenary (611), Brown (624) and Alabama State (655).

Three Brown golfers stand in 16th place individually with two round scores of 155. Senior All-Ivy Larry Haertel shot 78-77, junior All-Ivy Conor Malloy shot 81-74, and junior Chris Hoffman carded 75-80.

Freshman Michael Amato was 20th overall with a two-round 159 (79-80), and sophomore John Giannuzzi was 24th overall, shooting a two-round 164 (82-82)

Play concludes on Tuesday with 18 holes.
