Bears 11th After Day One Of Cal Poly Intercollegiate

Arroyo Grande, California - The Brown men's golf team stands in 11th place following the first day of competition of the Cal Poly Men's Intercollegiate, held at the 6,818-yard par-72 Cyprus Ridge Golf Course. The Bears shot 311-311-622 in two rounds on Thursday. Play will be completed on Friday, 3/27, with the Bears teeing off at 7:30 a.m. PDT.

Junior John Giannuzzi paced the Bears and is 22nd individually, after shooting 76-75--151. Senior Conor Malloy also had a solid first day, coming in at 156 with scores of 75, 81, 39th overall.

Senior Joe Rued, who joined the Brown team in the fall, was close behind Malloy, coming in at 157 on scores of 81, 76. Senior Chris Hoffman was steady at 79-81--160, while sophomore Michael Amato shot 82-79--161.

Heading into the final round, Cal Poly leads the tournament with a two-round 579.
