(UCLA, Texas A&M and Augusta State (twice).

Mike also has put an emphasis on academics and his squad's work was rewarded by the team receiving the prestigious President's Award for Excellence by the Golf Coaches Association of America for having the second highest team GPA in all of Division I golf for 3 consecutive years 2010,’11.’12.  The NCAA has also awarded the Bears its Special Recognition Award for teams having a GPA in the top 5 % of all Division I teams in every year that Mike has been head coach. Finally the Bears have been named an All-Academic Team nationally for 6 consecutive years.

Mike brings a myriad of teaching experience to College Hill with stints as an assistant professional at Metacomet CC and Agawam Hunt in East Providence, RI, a teaching professional at Longboat Key Club and PGA National in FL, and as Director of Golf for the Ken Venturi Golf Academy in Chicago.  At this last position, Mike also served as the assistant golf coach at DePaul University.  He is currently the Director of Golf Operations at Mulligan’s Island Golf in Cranston, RI; practice home of the Bears.  He is a Staff Professional with Callaway Golf.

Using his contacts, Mike has been able to bring the team to such great venues as Spyglass Hill, Monterey Peninsula CC, The Bayonet Club, Aronomink GC, Sebonack CC, Sakonnet CC, The Misquamicut Club, Newport Country Club,  Wannamoisett CC, Merion GC and Pine Valley GC.

Mike grew up two miles from Brown's campus, and is a graduate of St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH where he was a four-year letterwinner in golf.  He currently resides in Wickford, RI
