Brown Men’s Golf 7th At Ivy League Championship

Owings Mills, MD – The Brown men's golf team shot the fourth best score of the day, carding 298, to finish seventh at the 54-hole Ivy League Golf Championship, held at the par-70, 6908 yard Caves Valley Golf Club. Junior Nelson Hargrove, one of the longest hitters in the field, shot 72 on the final day to come in at 222 and place 8th individually and earn second team All-Ivy honors.

 

Princeton (883) captured the team championship by five shots over Yale (888), followed by Penn (889), Columbia (893), Dartmouth (896), Harvard (909), Brown (920) and Cornell (920).

 

Hargrove's 54-hole 222 came on rounds of 76-74-72, showing improvement each day to finish 8th individually.  Sophomore Justin Miller finished 15th individually and shot three rounds in the 70's, with scores of 75-75-76—226.

 

Junior peter Callas came in at 238 on rounds of 82-79-77, while senior captain JD Ardell shot 78-83-82. Freshman Jack Wilson also scored for the Bears with 85-87-73—235.
