Bears Place 6th At The Century Intercollegiate; Ivy Championship Next

Purchase, N.Y. - In its final tune-up for next week's Ivy League Championship, the Brown men's golf team finished sixth with a two-day score of 624 at The Century Intercollegiate held at the par 71, 6,807-yard Century Club. Brown's final round 305 was the third best score of the day.


Yale took home the team hardware after shooting 303-297—600 to win by three shots over the University of Rhode Island, who shot 603.  Temple placed third overall at 608, followed by Dartmouth (610), Princeton (615), Brown (624), Cornell (627) and Yale B (657).


Bears' senior captain JD Ardell (Scottsdale, AZ) had another strong tournament showing, placing 10th individually in the 48-player field.  Ardell shot 77-76—153 in the 36-hole competition.


Junior Nelson Hargrove (Haverford, PA) finished 20th individually after rounds of 82-74—156. Freshman Jack Wilson (Fairmont, CA) and sophomore Justin Miller (Oakmont, PA) each shot 159, with Wilson carding 79-80, and Miller shooting 84-75.


Junior Peter Callas (Moline, IL) was fifth on the Brown team after carding 82-81—163, while senior captain Jack Mylott (Sarasota, FL)  came in at 172 on round of 81-91.


The Ivy League Championship starts on Friday, April 26 and runs through Sunday, April 29 at the Cave's Valley Country Club in Owings Mills, Maryland.
