Men's Golf 8th At Yale Spring Invitational

New Haven, Conn. – Playing under sunny skies with windy and cool temperatures, the Brown men's golf team returned to action at the Yale Spring Opener, finishing 8th in the 13-team field.  Brown shot a 36-hole 613 (311-302) at the par-790, 6,700 yard Yale Golf Course.

 

Villanova (583) won the team title by nine shots over second place Yale (592), followed by Hartford (597), Temple (598), Princeton (598), Penn (600), Columbia (603), Brown (613), Yale II (613), Dartmouth (618), Franklin & Marshall (632), Colgate (637), and Cornell (644).

 

Senior captain JD Ardell paced the Bears with rounds of 77-73—150 to place 18th individually.  Junior Peter Callas turned in a solid performance, shooting 79-75—154.

 

Junior Nelson Hargrove carded 77-78—155, while freshman Jack Wilson was close behind after shooting 79-77—156.  Sophomore Justin Miller also scored for the Bears, shooting 157 on rounds of 77-80.

 

Coach Mike Hughes' team is back in action next week, April 13-14, at the Princeton Invitational played at the Springdale CC in Princeton, NJ.
