Bears Place 11th At Cornell Invitational
Ithaca, New York - Brown played at the Cornell Invitational for the first time ever and placed 11th overall at the rugged par-72, 6,890 Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. The Bears shot 309-319—628 and were led by sophomore Justin Miller and senior captain JD Ardell, who each shot a 36-hole 157.
The team title was taken by Binghamton with a 36-hole 593. Fordham placed second at 597, followed by Cornell (604), Bucknell (605), Lafayette (610), St. Bonaventure (613), Ottawa (615), Canisius (618), Siena (624), Colgate (625), Brown (628), Rider (649), and Cornell B (662).
Miller shot rounds of 82-75, while Ardell posted scores of 74-83 to place 35th individually. Junior Peter Callas and freshman Jack Wilson each shot 159 for the Bears, with Callas shooting 77-82, and Wilson, 80-79. Junior Kyohei Itamura was Brown's fifth score with a 36-hole 161 on rounds of 78-83.
The Bears will be back in action again next Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29, at the McDonald's Cup, held at the Yale Golf Course.
