Bears Place 16th At Big 5 Invitational
Plymouth Meeting, Pa. - Brown shot a final round 306 for a two-day 616, to place 16th overall at the Big Five Invitational, played at the 6,570 yard par-72 Plymouth Country Club.
Furman captured the team title by eight shots, shooting a two-day 574, followed by St. John's (582), Princeton (583), Kentucky (583), Yale (587), Binghamton (587), Seton Hall (588), Villanova (591), Rhode Island (593), Penn (593), Campbell (594), Harvard (597), Dartmouth (597), Temple (598), Fordham (605), Brown (616), Francis Marion (617), Cornell (618), Drexel (619), St. Joseph's (623), and LaSalle (628).
Sophomores JD Ardell and Ryan Hoskins paced the Bears with a two-round 151, good for 49th place individually. Ardell finished with a two-over 74 to go with his first round 77, while Hoskins shot 77 on Sunday, following his opening 74.
Senior captain Michael Amato was steady with a two-day 156 (79, 77). Freshman Peter Callas shot 78 on Sunday to card a two-round 158, while sophomore Jack Mylott came in at 170 (86, 84).
The Bears have no time to rest, playing at the UConn Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, October 11-12, at the Ellington Ridge CC.
