Brown Eighth On First Day of Ivy Golf Championship

Springfield, New Jersey -  Brown finished the first day of play at the Ivy League Golf Championship in eighth place in the tournament held at the world-famous par 70 Baltusrol Golf Club, nestled in the rolling hills of the Baltusrol Mountains.


Playing the Lower Course at 7,066 yards, Harvard leads the tournament after the first day of play after shooting 297, followed by Yale (302), Dartmouth (305), Penn (305), Cornell (308), Columbia (309), Princeton (313) and Brown (323).


Senior captain John Giannuzzi turned in the top score for the Bears, shooting 78 to place 21st individually.  Junior Michael Amato shot 81, 32nd individually, while freshmen JD Ardell and Jack Mylott both shot 82, 33rd individually.  Freshman Chris Williams came in at 86 for the Bears.


The Bears will tee off in Saturday's second round from 11:00 am to 11:38 a.m.  Play concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
