Bears Place 8th At Caves Valley Spring Intercollegiate

Owings Mills, MD - In its final warm-up for this week's Ivy League Championship, Brown placed 8th at the Caves Valley Invitational, played on the 6,942 yard, par-71, Caves Valley Country Club.  The Bears finished with a two-day 660, while Penn captured the team title with a two-day 612.

 

Bears' junior Michael Amato led Brown with a two-round 157 on scores of 81, 76.  Freshman JD Ardell came in at 165 (86, 79) while senior captain John Giannuzzi shot 86-80—166.

 

Freshman Chris Williams came in at 172 (85, 87), while freshman Jack Mylott also scored for the Bears, shooting 87-92—179.

 

Brown will compete in the Ivy League Golf Championship this week, April 23-25, at the world-renown Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.  Baltusrol has hosted 16 national championships, including seven United States Open Championships, four United States Amateur Championships, two United States Women's Open Championships, two United States Women's Amateur Championships and one PGA Championship.  The 2016 PGA Championship is also scheduled at Baltusrol.
