Providence, RI - Brown senior kicker Steve Morgan (New Albany, Ohio) has been named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after he established a new Ivy League career record for the second straight week -- this time the career mark for field goals, now with 47, eclipsing the previous mark of 45 set by Princeton's Derek Javerone in 2005.
More importantly, Morgan was the difference in Brown's 33-24 victory over Princeton, connecting on four-of-five field goals of 30, 44, 22 and 21 yards, and three-of-three extra points. Morgan registered 15 points for the game, and has amassed an Ivy League record 255 career kicking points, having eclipsed the Ivy mark of 229 points just one week ago.
Morgan, who has booted 47 of 65 field goals in his Brown career, ranks 13th nationally in field goals with 1.60 field goals per game. He also ranks 19th in the nation in punting yards with a 42.8 yards per punt average.
