Buddy Farnham '10 Earns Boston Globe Gold Helmet Award

Boston, Mass. - Brown junior wide receiver Buddy Farnham (Andover, Mass.) has been named the winner of the Boston Globe Gold Helmet Award as the New England Player of the Week for his outstanding play in Brown's 17-7 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday.
Farnham was the offensive star for the Bears against Seawolves, making 14 receptions for 111 yards. He scored on a two-yard touchdown run on his only rush of the day, and returned a kick-off 41 yards for the Bears. His 14 receptions are eighth best in Brown football history.
A first team All-Ivy and All-New England selection in 2007, the sure-handed Farnham set an Ivy League sophomore record, and led the Ivy League in receptions with 78, sixth best in the nation, and sixth best in the Brown record book. Farnham made a season high 12 receptions for 159 yards in Brown's win over Dartmouth, and made 11 catches against both Cornell and Princeton. His 885 receiving yards ranked third in the Ivy League, 11th best in Brown football history. Buddy also returned kickoffs and punts for the Bears, finishing third in the Ivy League in punt returns, and seventh in the league in kickoff returns.
