Brown Junior Kyle Slager (Columbus, OH) completed eight of nine passes for 133 yards to lead Brown to a 49-9 victory in a scrimmage against Susquehanna University at Brown Stadium.
Three Brown quarterbacks threw touchdown passes including Slager, sophomore Nick Marietti (North Muskeegon, MI)and junior Nate Poole (Grove City, OH). Overall Brown quarterbacks completed 15 of 18 passes for 277 yards.
Brown saw talent from newcomers including freshman running back Tristan Murray(New Carlisle, OH), who ran for two touchdowns on runs of three and two yards. Sophomore running back Aaron Neff (Lexington, KY) led all rushers with 36 yards on six carries including a four yard touchdown run.
Defensively, Brown dominated the contest with four players registering four tackles each. Senior Joel Barone (Shirley, NY), freshman John Covert (Wheaton, IL), senior Jeremiah Watts (Greenbelt, MD), and senior Brendan Kelly (Parma heights, OH) all contributed four tackles in The Bears victory over Susquehanna in pre-season play today.
Brown will open it's season on September 21st against Towson in Towson, MD.
