Brown Announces Radio and Internet Broadcast Package For Football

Sept. 5, 2002

Brown's 10-game Football schedule will once again be broadcast on WSKO-790 The Score with former WBZ radio sportscaster Dave Mager taking over as the play-by-play voice of Brown Football. Mager will also host the weekly Phil Estes Show, which will be broadcast on Thurdsay evenings at 7:00 p.m., beginning September 19th.

All Brown football games and the Phil Estes Show will also be available live on the internet on Brown's web site - www.brownbears.com - through a unique agreement with the Official College Sports Network (OCSN), Brown's web provider.

Brown football fans can listen to the live audio broadcast of Bears football and the Phil Estes Show on the internet via a new subscription-only service called College Sports Pass for $6.95 per month. To sign up for the subscription, Brown fans can go to the Bears' official web site www.brownbears.com.

Mager comes to Brown with a wide array of broadcast and play-by-play experience. A 1992 graduate of Syracuse University's highly respected broadcast journalism program, Mager was the winner of the 1992 Bob Costas award, which recognizes the top graduating sportscaster at Syracuse.

Mager worked as a sportscaster and producer at WBZ radio in Boston, WPRO in Providence, and recently worked at WBBM radio (AM 780) as a sports anchor/reporter covering all Chicago area teams including the Bears, Blackhawks and Notre Dame football. He was the voice of Notre Dame ice hockey for the last three years and has college hockey play-by-play experience with Colgate and Merrimack.

Following the fall season, the College Sports Pass will continue for Brown sports fans with the entire Brown Basketball schedule also available on the internet, and WSKO-790 The Score.
