Inzer And Morey Help Patriots To 23-8 Win Over Carolina

Aug. 21, 2001

The was a distinct Brown color to the New England Patriots 23-8 pre-season victory over the Carolina Panthers Saturday night, with Drew Inzer '01 and Sean Morey '99 playing key roles for New England.

Inzer played most of the second half on the offensive line at left guard, providing superb protection for quarterback Tom Brady. A first team All-Ivy selection for Brown last season, the 6-5, 305 Inzer was solid on run and pass blocking.

Morey caught a 23-yard pass from Brady in the fourth quarter and excelled on special teams. He blocked a punt in the Patriots' first pre-season game against the New York Giants. Morey, the 1998 Ivy League Player of the Year and all-time Ivy League leader in receiving yards, is playing his third season with the Patriots. He earned a roster spot his rookie year and spent most of last season on the practice squad. Morey is a two-year veteran of NFL Europe.
