    Brown is set for the 117th meeting with Harvard and the opening of its Ivy League season on Saturday, September 23 when the Bears travel to Boston, Mass., to face the Crimson at Harvard Stadium. All the action starts at 12 noon in a game televised on the Ivy League Network and NESN.

    Brown senior defensive end Richard Jarvis (Watertown, MA) was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week and freshman wide receiver Scott Boylan (Bakersfield, CA) earned both Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week and Co-Rookie of the Week honors following Brown’s 28-23 win over Bryant on Saturday.

    Junior quarterback Nicholas Duncan ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 152 yards and a score to lead Brown football to a 28-23 win over in-state rival Bryant in its season opener at Brown Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

  • Brown Football Opens Its 140th Season At Home vs. Bryant
    September 14, 2017
    Brown’s 140th season of intercollegiate football kicks-off on Saturday, September 16 against Bryant at Brown Stadium in coach Phil Estes’ 20th season at the helm. Estes has coached the Bears to three Ivy League titles and finished in the top half of the Ivy League in 16 of his 19 seasons. Phil’s 112 career wins (112-77) are 10th in Ivy League history, while his 76 career Ivy wins are the most ever at Brown and sixth in the Ivy record book. There will also be a familiar face on the opposing sideline - former Ivy League Player of the Year James Perry ’00, who led the Bears to the Ivy title in 1999. His banner is hanging under the home grandstand at Brown Stadium.

    The journey begins for Brown’s 140th season of intercollegiate football with 20th year head coach Phil Estes welcoming 110 players to the beginning of preseason camp. The Bears will undergo physical testing on Tuesday, August 22 and hold their first official practice on Wednesday, August 23 at 8:30 am. in a split squad session.

    Brown head football coach Phil Estes has announced the 30-member Class of 2021, who will matriculate on College Hill in the fall. The class included six defensive linemen, five defensive backs, five inside linebackers, four offensive linemen, three wide receivers, two running backs, two quarterbacks, two outside linebackers and one tight end. This outstanding group represents incoming student-athletes from 15 different states, who have won a wide array of honors and awards.

Estes and the other five college football coaches that will have teams playing in the Fenway Gridiron Series this fall will all participate in the ceremonial toss prior to the baseball game.

    The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today the members of the 2017 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. Brown football led the nation with 18 graduating student-athletes named.
  • Brown Football Helps Give The Gift of Life With 8th Annual “Be The Match” Bone Marrow Donor Testing Drive

    Brown head coach Phil Estes and the Bears’ Football team are once again joining collegiate football teams throughout the country in an effort to recruit new bone marrow volunteers to the “Be The Match” registry. The Bears will sponsor their Eighth Annual Bone Marrow Donor Testing Drive on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Sayles Hall, located on the main campus, from 10 am to 4 pm. The drive is open to the public and sponsored by Brown Football and the Brown Warren Alpert Medical School.

    The New England Patriots celebrated its Super Bowl win in style on Tuesday, with a parade in Boston and a Rhode Island celebration at the Dunkin Donuts Center. Front and center in all of the celebrations was former Brown defensive end James Develin ’10, the Patriots’ starting fullback, who earned his second Super Bowl ring with the Patriots.
