MICHAEL YULES EARNS SPOT ON 2013 CFPA WATCH LIST

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards, the largest awards organization in D-I college football, recently announced its watch list for defensive linemen, and Brown senior defensive end Michael Yules (South Dartmouth, MA) earned a spot on the list. The preliminary watch list highlights thirty-eight returning performers, vying for the top individual defensive end and defensive tackle awards in the Football Championship Subdivision.

"Congratulations to Michael Yules on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Under Head Coach Phil Estes, Yules produced one of the Ivy League's top defensive performances in 2012."

Yules, a product of the Moses Brown School, had a breakout year for the Bears and ranked 13th nationally with 13 tackles for a loss of 59 yards. He had 32 tackles overall, and ranked fourth in the Ivy League with 6.5 quarterback sacks. Yules, an Academic All-Ivy selection, was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after he led the Brown defense that held Georgetown to one yard of total offense in the second half and zero first downs after halftime.

All CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration.
