Brown’s 2013 Football Schedule Features Home Night Games vs. URI and Princeton

Providence, R.I. – For the first time ever, Brown football will play two night games at Brown Stadium as the Bears enter its 136th season of football on College Hill. Coach Phil Estes' Brown football team, who finished second in the Ivy standings last year and will be a contender for the Ivy title once again, will host URI under the lights on October 5, followed by Princeton at night on October 19.

"Our football program is thrilled to have two night games at Brown Stadium," said Estes.  "Playing at night gives us the opportunity to showcase our team, generating big crowds and excitement for the program. Our players, fans and the entire Brown community really enjoyed the incredible ambiance of our night games and have responded by coming out in droves. To have the opportunity to play two night games, one with an in-state rival (URI) and the other a key Ivy game (Princeton), is exceptional, and it will allow more fans to experience the excitement of Brown football."

Georgetown opens Brown's five game home slate on Saturday, September 21 in the fourth-ever meeting with the Hoyas.

Brown's next two home games will be played under the lights at Brown Stadium, with Rhode Island coming to Providence for the Governor's Cup on Saturday, October 5, and Brown hosting Princeton on Saturday evening, October 19.  Both games will kick-off at 6 p.m.

Brown's remaining home games are against defending Ivy League Champion Penn on Saturday, November 2, and Dartmouth on Saturday, November 16.

The Bears will be on the road to open its Ivy League schedule with a Saturday evening match-up at Harvard on September 28. Brown will travel to Smithfield, R.I. for its inaugural meeting with Bryant University on October 12. Estes' team will also be on the road at Cornell (October 26), Yale (November 9) and Columbia (November 23).
