PRINCETON, N.J. -- In partnership with the National Football Foundation (NFF), the 2012 Asa S. Bushnell Cup Presentation, recognizing the Ivy League Football Players of the Year, will be streamed live on FootballFoundation.org with access on IvyLeagueSports.com. Brown senior defensive back AJ Cruz (Lake Forest, CA) is a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
The 2012 presentation of the Asa S. Bushnell Cup is Monday, Dec. 3, the day before the NFF Annual Awards Dinner, at a special reception and press conference. Festivites will get underway at Noon in the Vanderbilt Room of the famed Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City. The presentation will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The League's Offensive Player of Year will be announced from the two finalists -- Harvard senior quarterback Colton Chapple and Cornell junior quarterback Jeff Mathews -- and the Defensive Player of the Year will be announced from the two finalists -- Princeton senior defensive lineman Mike Catapano and Brown senior defensive back/return specialist AJ Cruz.
The NFF and the Ivy League are partnering for the third-consecutive year to co-host the presentation of the Asa S. Bushnell Cup. The four finalists, along with their head coaches, will be on hand at the presentation.
Last year, Mathews was named Offensive Player of the Year and Harvard senior defensive tackle Josue Ortiz was named Defensive Player of the Year.
