Patrick Donnelly Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week
Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior quarterback Patrick Donnelly (Longmeadow, Mass.) was named the Ivy League's Player of the Week for his role in the Bears' 28-24 win over Dartmouth. Donnelly accounted for all four Brown touchdowns, throwing for two and running for two more.
An Economics/History concentrator, Donnelly completed 20-of-32 passes for 233 yards with touchdown tosses of 11 and 18 yards. Trailing by 10 points in the fourth quarter, he pulled Brown to within three points by scoring on a three-yard run, scrambling right, and then left, and back to the right before heading into the end zone, with 6:39 remaining.
Donnelly then directed the Bears on an 80-yard scoring drive, passing for 77 of the 80 yards and throwing an 18-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Jonah Fay with 1:14 remaining to give Brown the victory.
Brown, assured of a winning record for the fifth consecutive year, will complete its 2012 season on Saturday, November 17, hosting Columbia at Brown Stadium. Brown's 28 seniors will be honored in pre-game ceremonies. It's also Military appreciation day with active members of the Armed Services and veterans being honored at the game.
