Brown’s 2012 Football Schedule Features Nationally Televised Games With Harvard and Princeton

Providence, Rhode Island – Brown's 2012 football schedule was released today with two games being televised nationally by the NBC Sports Network, a home night game against Harvard on September 22, and a road match-up against Princeton on October 13. The Bears' schedule features four home games, including a night game, and six contests on the road, as Brown vies for its third Ivy Championship since 2005.

The Ivy League has put together a seven game package to be televised on the NBC Sports Network, with an eighth being aired on the CBS Sports Network. The eight-game package comes on the heels of the Ivy League and the NBC Sports Group (formerly VERSUS) announcing a two-year renewal of their national television rights agreement for football, men's basketball and men's lacrosse games last month.

Head coach Phil Estes' team kicks-off its season against New England rival Holy Cross on September 15 in Worcester, Mass.

Brown hosts Harvard under the lights at Brown Stadium on September 22 at 4:30 p.m., with the NBC Sports Network televising the game live as part of the Ivy League's new television package. The Bears and Crimson met in the first ever night game at Brown Stadium in 2010, with over 17,000 in attendance.

The Bears will be road warriors for the next three weeks, first traveling to Washington, DC on September 29 to face Georgetown.  The Governor's Cup football game against cross-state rival URI is scheduled for October 6 in Kingston, RI.. Brown's second appearance on the NBC Sports Network comes against Princeton on October 13 at Princeton Stadium, with kick-off at 12:05 p.m.

Brown returns home for a Family Weekend game against Cornell on October 20, and travels to Philadelphia on October 27 for a match-up against the Penn Quakers.

Yale comes to Brown Stadium on November 3 in the 117th meeting between the two Ancient Eight schools.  Brown's last road game will be in Hanover, N.H on November 10 against Dartmouth. The Bears conclude their 2012 season at home against Columbia on November 11.

Brown alumni and fans are invited to help coach Estes and the Brown team gear-up for the 2012 season at the 21st Annual Brown Football Association Golf Classic and Kick-off Dinner on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Rhode Island Country Club.
