Kyle Newhall-Caballero Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior quarterback Kyle Newhall-Caballero (Gilbert, AZ) has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after he engineered a 35-21 Brown victory over Rhode Island and helped the Bears regain the Governor's Cup in the second ever night game Brown Stadium.

Newhall-Caballero accounted for four of Brown's five touchdowns, throwing touchdown passes of 27 and 17 yards, and running for two more, both on two-yard runs. He completed 17 of 29 passes for 203 yards against the Rams.

A first team All-Ivy selection in 2009, Newhall-Caballero is rated among the top passers in Brown football history.  His 3,880 career passing yards and 358 career completions rank sixth in the Brown record book, while his 27 career touchdown passes are eighth in Brown football history.

Newhall-Caballero and his Brown teammates take on Holy Cross on Saturday, October 8 with game time slated for 12:30 p.m. at Brown Stadium.  The last time he played against Holy Cross in 2009, Newhall-Caballero completed an Ivy League record 46 passes against the Crusaders.
