Paul Jasinowski Named Second Team CoSIDA Academic All-American

Providence, RI - Brown senior right tackle Paul Jasinowski
(Washington, DC) has been named a second team ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-America as selected by the College Sports Information
Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A mainstay of the Brown offensive line for the last three seasons,
Jasinowski is a three-time All-Ivy selection, earning first team
All-Ivy honors in 2008 and 2009. He helped Brown to a third place
finish in the Ivy standings in 2009 with the Ivy League’s
number one offense (396.6 yards of total offense) and passing
offense (290.9 yards per game), while the Bears were second in
scoring with 24.1 points per game.
Jasinowski was named to prestigious National Football Foundation
2009 National Scholar-Athlete class, and is one of 16 finalists who
will vie for the William V. Campbell Trophy. As a finalist,
Jasinoswki earns an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship and will be
honored at the NFF Annual Awards Dinner on December 8, 2009 at the
Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, where the Campbell Trophy
winner will be announced. Jasinowski is the sixth Brown player to
win a NFF Scholar–Athlete Award.
In the classroom, Jasinowski has posted 3.70 GPA, with a double
major in Economics and Urban Studies. He plans to pursue an
MBA.
For three years, Jasinowski has been a coordinator and leader of a
weekly volunteer group for special needs students at Fox Point
Elementary School. In 2008, he was awarded the Chris Perry
Community Service Award, given to a Brown football player who is
the most involved in the community and exhibits the qualities of
"scholarship, leadership and concern for others". He also
co-coordinated a fundraiser event to benefit the fight against
cancer called Bench Press for Cancer.
