Providence, Rhode Island - With heavy rain pounding the Brown
Stadium tundra, Brown senior wide receiver Buddy Farnham (Andover,
MA) turned in a spectacular performance against URI and was named
the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week after accumulating 274
all-purpose yards in the Bears' 28-20 win over the Rams.
Farnham caught touchdown passes of 32 and 42 yards, made five
receptions for 100 yards, returned four punts 97 yards, including a
67-yard return that set up a Brown touchdown, and brought back
three kickoffs 77 yards, with a long return of 31 yards. The 97
punt return yards by Farnham are the third best performance in
Brown football history.
Farnham ranks sixth in the nation in receptions, with 7.67 per
game, and ranks 11th nationally in both punt return yards (16.83
per game) and all-purpose running (169.33 yards per game). His 178
career receptions are fourth among active FCS players and 13th best
in Ivy football history. Farnham’s 509 career punt return
yards rank third in the Brown record book, while his 821 kickoff
return yards rank 6th best in Brown football history.
Farnham and the Bears will be back in action again at home against
19th-ranked Holy Cross on Saturday, October 10th. Game time is
