Men's Varsity Eight Edged Out In Semi-Finals of IRA Championships

Cherry Hills, NJ - The Brown men's varsity eight placed fourth in the semifinals of the IRA Championships on the Cooper River in Cherry Hills, NJ on Friday, knocking the Bears out of the grand final race.
The top three teams in the country went one, two and three as Harvard placed first. Wisconsin edged out the Bears by just 1.48 seconds for the third spot. Brown timed in at 5:45.66.
Brown did however advance two boats to the grand finals. The open fours placed third in its semifinal race while the freshman eight finished second.
The finals will take place on Saturday May 31. The varsity eight will compete in the petite race on Saturday as well.
