Providence, RI - The Brown men's crew swept four races from Boston University on Saturday on the Seekonk River in the Bears regular season finale. The fourth ranked varsity eight defeated the 11th ranked Terriers in the varsity eight by just under six seconds while the second varsity eight, freshman eight and third varsity four all recorded wins over Boston University as well.
The varsity eight race was a closely contested battle in the first 1,000 meters but Brown was able to pull ahead in the second 1,000 meters, en route to its fourth win of the season. The Bears enter the Eastern Sprint Championships with a 4-1 record and are currently ranked second behind Princeton in the latest EARC Heavyweight Poll.
The second varsity eight took a convincing ten second victory while the varsity four and freshman eight crew earned five second wins over the Terriers.
The annual Eastern Sprints will take place on May 21 in Worcester, MA.
