Brown Finishes Second at the Foot of the Charles
November 19, 2011The Brown men’s crew took to the Charles River on Saturday to compete in the annual Foot of the Charles regatta. The Bears showed good speed and came in second behind two strong Harvard squads in the varsity four and placed fourth in the freshman eight.
Brown Takes On Head of the Charles
Since 1965, rowers have come from far and near to the banks of the Charles River in Boston, Mass., to take part in the world's largest regatta, and this past weekend Brown men’s crew was once again one of those teams. The Bears squared off against some tough competition on a cool fall day as both of Bruno’s eight and four boats were in action.
Brown Men’s Crew Shows Speed at Head of the Genesee
Brown put five boats on the water at the Head of the Genesee on October 15 and showed some early speed. Brown’s varsity and JV fours finished one-two in their races while, in a dual race against Cornell, the Bears varsity eight topped the Big Red.
Brown Rookies Compete in Inaugural Races
The first races of the 2011-12 season featured two rookie boats as the Brown freshman competed in their inaugural races as Bears oarsman. The meet was held at the Head of the Housatonic in Shelton, Conn.
