PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The sixth-ranked Brown men's crew opens up postseason competition on Sunday, May 18 when the Bears take part in the Eastern Association of Rowing College (EARC) Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. In addition to the EARC title, made up of the top rowing schools in the East, the event will also determine the Ivy League Championship.
The Eastern Sprints is located on a six-lane course and features a heat/final progression with trials in the morning followed by finals in the afternoon. Brown will enter boats in the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity, Third Varsity, Fourth Varsity and Freshmen Eight events.

Brown will be seeking its fourth Ivy League Championship in the last seven years after winning in 2008, 2009 and most recently in 2012. The Bears placed second at the 2013 EARC Sprints, and dropped a narrow tiebreaker with Harvard in team points, but picked up victories in the second and third varsity events. Brown and Harvard have each won three V8 Ivy League titles in the last six years. The Bears will face off against six crews from the regular season in Yale, Boston University, Harvard, Northeastern, Dartmouth and Princeton.
