BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - On Sunday, February 17th, several members of the Brown men's crew team competed at the CRASH-B Indoor Rowing World Championships at Agganis Arena on the campus of Boston University.
It was a good day for men's crew, as many members posted their personal best times. Senior Peter Gibson (Belmont, MA) finished first in the Under-23 category and fourth overall in the lightweight event with a time of 6:18.6. In the open heavyweight event, three of Brown's oarsmen placed in the top 12, with sophomore Whiting Tennis (Mazama, WA) finishing ninth, junior Quinten Richardson (Vancouver, British Columbia) finishing 10th and sophomore Vyacheslav Chupryna (Lima, Peru) finishing 11th overall.
The Bears hope to translate these victories into continued success as they begin their season in March. The men will welcome Yale to Providence for their season opener on March 29th.
