Shelton, Conn. – After one of the most successful seasons in program history, capturing the ECAC and Ivy League titles and finishing second in the country at the IRA Regatta, the Brown men's crew returned to the water, with the freshmen taking on the field at the Head of the Housatoinc.
Brown had two novice eight boats in the field with finished first and third with times of 14:00.49 and 15:22.01.
The Bears' novice four boat placed fourth in its race, finishing with a time of 19:21.68.
The Head of the Housatonic is one of the largest, single-day, head races in the country, attracting rowers of all levels. The regatta venue was held at Indian Well State Park, situated on a 4.5 mile stretch of the river. The course is 2.7 miles starting just below the park and ending at the New Haven Rowing Club boathouse across the river in Oxford, Conn.
