Providence, RI - Brown junior guard Chris Skrelja (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY) has been named the Ivy League's Player of the Week after scoring a career high 29 points in Brown's 79-61 victory over Hartford.
Skrelja shot a sizzling 11 of 12 from the field, mostly inside the paint, on a wide array of lay-ups and drives to the basket. He didn't miss a shot in the second half, connecting on 6 of 6 field goals in scoring 16 second half points. Skrelja, who led three Brown players in double figures for the game, also converted 7 of 8 free throws, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists in the win over the Hawks.
Skrelja's 29 points extended his season scoring average to 10.0 points per game and has helped the 6-4 Bears to wins in four of their last five games. He and the Brown basketball team will be back in action next Saturday, December 29th, traveling to South Bend, Indiana to battle Notre Dame.
