Brown hits the road on Saturday, December 6th for a matinee (1:00 p.m.) match-up with the University of New Hampshire at Lundholm Gym in Durham New Hampshire. Brown fans that can't make it to the game can listen live on WPRV-AM 790 in the Providence area, or catch the live broadcast on the internet at brownbears.com, with Scott Cordischi and Russ Tyler '71 calling all the action.
The Bears (3-4) are coming off an 86-62 loss at Providence College Wednesday evening at the Dunkin Donuts Center. Peter Sullivan `11 scored 16 points and Adrian Williams `11 added 15 points for the Bears.
New Hampshire (2-3) stopped Colgate, 57-54, on Wednesday, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Brown and New Hampshire have met 43 times, dating back to the 1937-1938 season, with the Bears leading the series, 22-21. Brown has won the last three meetings, including a 68-52 victory last year in Providence on 12/6/07. New Hampshire's last win over the Bears came in the 1998-1999 season when the Wildcats prevailed, 77-71.
Brown University Athletics is teaming up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for the Annual Toys for Tots Drive. Brown has scheduled several opportunities for people to contribute to Toys for Tots this month at various ice hockey and basketball games (12/5 M. Ice Hockey vs. Union; 12/5 W. Basketball vs. LIU; 12/6 M. Ice Hockey vs. RPI; 12/7 W. Basketball vs. UMass; 12/9 M. Basketball vs. Hartford).
If fans bring a new, unwrapped toy to any of these events, they will be admitted to the game for free. Brown's campaign culminates with the 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss during halftime of the men's basketball game against Hartford on December 9. All fans bringing a new teddy bear to this game will be admitted for free and be able to participate in the halftime contest. The winner of the Teddy Bear Toss will win an exclusive prize pack from many of Brown's corporate sponsors.
