Keenan Jeppesen Earns All-Ivy Honors

March 9, 2006

Providence, RI - Brown University sophomore forward Keenan Jeppesen (Stoney Creek, Ontario), who was the Ivy League's second leading scorer in league games with 16.1 points per game, has earned second team All-Ivy honors, as selected by the eight Ancient Eight head basketball coaches.

Jeppesen scored in double figures in 13 of the 14 Ivy League games this season, including a career high 25 points against Dartmouth and Columbia. He scored 20 or more points five times and registered his first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds against Cornell.

Jeppesen was Brown's top scorer overall with 11.1 points per game, 10th best in the Ivies overall, while leading the Bears in rebounding with 5.0 rebounds per game. His 51 steals for the season ranked second in the league overall. He also had 15 blocked shots for the season, 10th in the league.

The 6-6 Jeppesen was at his best in Ivy League games, averaging 6.1 rebounds per game, seventh best in the league, and 2.43 steals per game, second in the league. Showing great anticipation, Jeppesen registered a career high six steals against Dartmouth and had five steals against both Yale and Princeton. He was named the Ivy League Player of the Week last week after scoring a game-high 16 points in Brown's win over Princeton and a game high 21 points in the Bears' overtime loss to Penn.

The Bears finished the season with a 10-7 overall record, 6-8 in the Ivy League (fifth), and return a young starting five (one junior, three sophomores and one freshman), who each started Brown's last 15 games.
