Providence, R.I - Brown sophomore point guard Adrian Williams (Atlanta, Ga.) has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week after scoring a career high 29 points in Brown's win over Quinnipiac and 13 points against American.
Williams exploded for a career-high 29 points in an 89-73 win over Quinnipiac, connecting on nine-of-11 field goals, including an incredible seven-of-eight three-pointers, and four-of-four free throws. His seven treys rank seventh in the Brown record book and are the second most by any Bear player at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Williams scored 13 points and pulled down four rebounds in Brown's loss to 2007-08 NCAA tournament team American on the road, hitting four-of-eight field goals, including three-of-six from three-point range, and two-of-two from the free throw line.
For the week, Williams shot .680 from the field (13-of-19), .710 from behind the three-point arc (10-of-14), and was a perfect six-of-six from the free throw line.
Williams and the Brown men's basketball team will take on Virginia tomorrow evening, January 6, in Charlottesville, VA. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
