Providence, Rhode Island - Brown University freshman forward Scott Friske (Charlevoix, MI) has been named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week after scoring a career high 24 points against Army and grabbing a career high 11 rebounds against Albany.
Friske's 24 points at West Point included the game-winning basket with six-tenths of a second remaining to lead the Bears to the win over Army. With two seconds remaining on the clock, and the score tied, 57-57, Friske took the inbounds pass just inside the free throw line, grabbed and shot the ball in one motion for the game-winning basket. He connected on 8 of 13 shots from the field, including 2 of 4 treys, while grabbing four rebounds and handing out three assists against the Cadets.
Friske also had a big game against Albany at home, scoring eight points on 4 of 5 shooting from the field, while grabbing a career high 11-rebounds against the Great Danes.
Brown, 3-8 on the season, faces Canisius tonight at the Pizzitola Sports Center, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
