Brown Bears Beat Wagner, 103-100

Providence, RI - Junior Earl Hunt scored 21 of his season high 32 points in the second half to lead Brown to a 103-100 non-league win over Wagner. The win lifts the Bears to a 3-1 record, their best start since the 1961-1962 season. In addition, Brown scored 100 points or more points for the first time since the last weekend of the 1991 season.
Brown held a 51-50 lead at the half, and led by as many as 10 points in the second half86-76 on a three point basket by Hunt with 5:57 remaining in the game.
Wagner cut the Bears' advantage to just four points, 86-82, following three point baskets by sophomore Courtney Pritchard and senior Yves Kabore at the 5:04 mark. The Seahawks pulled to within one points of the Bears, 91-90, on a Pritchard layup with 2:36 remaining. Four free throws by freshman Jason Forte and a basket by Hunt lifted the Bears to a 97-90 lead.
Hunt connected on 8 of 14 shots from the field, and converted 13 of 14 free throws to lead four Brown players in double figures. Senior Shaun Etheridge scored 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field, while junior Alai Nuualiitia netted 15 points and grabbed a game high 8 rebounds. Sophomore Jaime Kilburn chipped in 12 points for the Bears.
