Providence, RI - Matt Stehle scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Brian Cusworth scored 16 points, grabbing 13 rebounds to lead Harvard to a 64-53 Ivy League victory over Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The win lifts the Crimson to 9-11 overall, 4-3 in the Ivy League, while Brown fell to 9-10 overall, 2-3 in Ivy play.
The cold shooting Bears shot just 30 percent from the field (20-65) and just 22 percent from behind the three-point arc (5-22).
Brown trailed 28-27 at halftime and quickly fell behind by 10 points at the outset of the second half, 41-31, on a layup by Jason Norman with 16:13 left in the game. The closest the Bears could get the rest of the game was a five point deficit, 41-36, after a Damon Huffman layup with 15:02 remaining.
The Bears were led by Luke Ruscoe, who scored 11 points and grabbed a team high 8 rebounds. Jason Forte netted 10 points, while Huffman added 8 points and 7 rebounds.
For Harvard, Kevin Rogus tossed in 13 points on 4 of 8 shooting from three-point range, and Norman added 12 points and six rebounds.
The Bears will be back in action Saturday night at home against Dartmouth. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
