PROVIDENCE, R.I (AP) - Tim Begley and Koko Archibong each scored 17 points Saturday night as Penn held off an early second-half run by Brown for an 84-74 win.
Brown (13-8, 4-4 Ivy) trailed 46-37 at halftime, but Earl Hunt scored nine points in an 11-6 run to start the second half to make it 52-48 with 15:21 to play.
Penn (16-6, 3-3) responded with a 12-0 run over the next 3:23. Brown cut the lead to 10 with 9:29 to go, but the Quakers went on an 18-6 run, capped off by a 3-pointer by Jeff Schiffner, for an 82-62 lead with less than five minutes to play.
Begley, who scored all of his points in the first half including four 3-pointers, also had 11 rebounds. Schiffner finished with 14 points while Adam Chubb and Andrew Toole scored 13 apiece.
The Quakers shot 51 percent from the field in the game, including 53 percent from 3-point range (9 of 17).
Hunt and Jaime Kilburn led the Bears with 18 each.
The Quakers outscored the Bears 16-7 over the first 7:42 of the game, and built their largest lead of the first half with 6:07 to play after Chubb hit a layup to make it 31-17.
