Princeton Pulls Away From Men's Hoops In Second Half

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Ray Robins scored 16 points as Princeton pulled away in the second half Friday night for a 70-56 victory over Brown.
The Tigers (10-7, 5-0 Ivy League) led 33-31 at halftime but opened the second half with a 16-1 run and held Brown without a field goal for almost seven minutes.
Mike Bechtold made two 3-pointers and Ahmed El-Nokali scored five points in the run. Princeton extended its lead to 22 when Kyle Wente made a layup with 5:59 to play to make it 63-41.
Brown (13-7, 4-3) shot 58 percent from the field and the Tigers shot 56 percent in the first half. Princeton pulled ahead 28-21 with 6:12 to play after Ed Persia hit two 3-pointers, but Brown responded with a 10-3 run to tie the game at 31-31 with less than a minute left in the half.
Bechtold scored on a layup after an offensive rebound with no time remaining to give the Tigers the halftime lead.
Princeton had 30 rebounds, 11 offensive, during the game, while Brown had just 16. The Tigers were 4-for-4 from the line in the game, while the Bears were 14-of-21, but Princeton shot 57 percent from the field in the second half.
Jason Forte led Brown with 19 points. Bechtold scored 14 points while El-Nokali and Konrad Wysocki each had 10.
