Men's Hoops Falls To Harvard, 89-81

BOSTON (AP) - Pat Harvey had 21 points and Sam Winter had 18 points and eight rebounds Friday night to lead Harvard to an 89-81 victory over Brown.
Harvey, the second leading scorer in the Ivy League at 18.4 points per game, also outscored the league's top scorer, Earl Hunt, who was limited to six points on 1-for-10 field goal shooting. Hunt is now averaging 20.4 points.
Brown freshman Jason Forte, the younger brother of Boston Celtics rookie Joe Forte, had a game-high 25 points and Patrick Powers had 17 for the Bears (12-6, 3-2).
Harvard (11-6, 4-1) stayed in a second place tie with Yale in the league with the victory.
The game was tied 35-35 at halftime, before Harvard took the lead for good on Tim Coleman's layup that made it 47-45 with 16:09 to play. The Crimson pulled ahead by as many as 11 (76-65) on Winter's two free throws with 5:05 to play.
Brown pulled within six points on three occasions down the stretch.
Brady Merchant came off the bench to score 16 points for the Crimson.
